The Future?
What does the future hold for me. WOW, what a really big question to tackle and answer. I think I know what the future holds for me, but does anyone really know what the future holds. I know one thing I will never stop learning because as a teacher if I stop learning, why continue as a teacher. Every day as a teacher is a learning experience. My learning will continue in and out of the classroom to make me a stronger and confident person and teacher.
First, in the classroom I will drink in all the knowledge I can from my students. Granted my students are 4, but sometimes they are very innocent and intelligent all at the same time. I will learn to not stress (hopefully) over the small stuff and stride to experience teaching through a 4 year old eyes. I will get dirty and experience school for the first time along with my students. Formally, I will still attend workshops and trainings to keep up on the last techniques, practices and benchmarks. I need to surround myself with veteran teachers who are also willing to learn with me. I will never stop learning.
Secondly, I need to continue learning outside the classroom. I truly feel that being a mother of almost 2 children has made me a more patient and understanding person. My daughter has taught me so many things that I had never taken the time to figure out. She is a brilliant mind and I continue to learn from her as well. She is my inspiration and the reason I get up in the morning. I learn something from her everyday and I will continue to learn from her as she tries and learns new things.
Finally, I will learn from within and how to calm and strengthen my inner being. I need to be strong from my kids at school and home. They face life's challenges just like everyone else. I will continue to learn and grow.
Life has handed my the opportunity to be a wife, mother and teacher, I need to embrace this gift and continue to learn and grow in order to be the best I can.
